studied musicology and business administration at the University of Hamburg. Following her studies, she worked for the music publishing house G. Schirmer in New York.
Since 1980 she has been executive partner of the Sikorski Music Publishing House. From 1997 to 2005 she was chairperson of the economic commission and member of the executive board of the German Music Publishers Association (DMV), and president of the Association of German Stage and Media Publishers (1997–2004).
Today, Sikorski is president of the DMV (since 2002), member of the board of directors of the GEMA (since 2003), and member of the executive committee of the German Music Council (since 2005).
Moreover, Sikorski is co-founder and member of the foundation council “Kinder brauchen Musik” (Children need Music) and member of the board of trustees of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben (German Musical Life Foundation).
